In the early stages of Alzheimer's, Joan began to experience memory loss and confusion. She would often forget where she had put things or why she had gone into a room. She also started to have difficulty with language, and would sometimes struggle to find the right words to say.

As the disease progressed, Joan's symptoms became more severe. She began to have difficulty walking and eating, and she eventually lost the ability to speak. She also became increasingly agitated and confused.

Caring for my mother during her journey with Alzheimer's was one of the most challenging experiences of my life. I watched as the woman I had always known slowly disappeared. There were times when I felt overwhelmed and frustrated, but I never gave up hope.

Throughout Joan's journey, I learned a lot about Alzheimer's and about the importance of caregiving. I also learned a lot about myself. I learned that I am stronger than I thought I was, and that I am capable of great love and compassion.

I wrote this book to share Joan's story and to help others who are affected by Alzheimer's. I hope that by sharing our experiences, I can help to raise awareness of this devastating disease and provide hope to those who are struggling.

Joan's Legacy

Joan passed away in 2015, but her legacy lives on. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She was also a strong and courageous woman who never gave up hope.

Joan's story is a reminder that even in the face of adversity, there is always hope. She taught me the importance of living each day to the fullest and of never giving up on those we love.

I am so grateful for the time I had with Joan. She was an amazing woman who taught me so much about life and love.
